add password to notepad files

you cannot add passwords to notepad documents. Maybe your best bet would be to put them into a zip file and put a password on that.

Right click on the text file you created in Notepad and select 'Send to...'

From the sub-menu that pops up select 'Compressed (zipped) folder'

This will create a zip file with the same name as the text file

Right-click on this zip file and select 'Explore'

From the 'File' menu select 'Add a password'

Type the password in twice and click OK

Delete the original text file
